GTAV has been out for a while now. I waited until it was on sale before I picked up my digital copy. Honestly well worth the full price. So I have played all of the Grand theft auto games since they went third person. Vice City had been one of my favorites. The stony was so close to the movie Scarface which is close to my heart.
I am going to forgo the specefics of the game. It has been out for a while and there are a lot better writers out there who have written up the mechanics of the game. Instead I will write what the game means to me and why I love/hate it.
The story is really engaging. Most people who review or play the game say Trevor is one of the more interesting characters in any game. I disagree. For me Franklin s story is much more entertaining. Young kid coming up from a bad life on the hard streets trying to make life better.
The true Glory of GTA5 isn't the extra side stuff. Everyone has been so enamored by how much side content there is. For me it is all about the cut scene interactions. The acting and writing is top notch. There has been a lot of write up on how games have been top tier quality in telling stories. It is nowhere more evident than in GTA5.
For me the side stuff is more annoying than it is fun in most cases. After I played through the story and some of the side quests I felt pretty complete. So I can't say this game has replay value. Though I say that not having played the online portion.
Overall score 1 to 5 1 for thumbs up 0 for no thumb equaling 5
Graphics/Art = 1
Story/Writing = 1
Audio = 1
Immersion = 1
Mechanics = 1 (thank god GTA4 had terrible mechanics)
5 out of 5
