Guild Wars 2!

Hello, this is my first blog post. I felt like I needed to do this not to be heard but to speak. I have so many things that I feel really passionate about. The ones I would like to share are my games, movies, music, comics and so much more.

That being said I would like the first post to be about the best game I am playing right now. Guild Wars 2. This game is everything I wanted ahem....others (WoW) to be.

Let me break down why i think this could be the greatest MMO ever. Starters I have played almost all the big named ones and a lot of the smaller MMO's so I have been around as you can say. So I feel positive in my argument that Guild Wars could be the best ever.

       1) ART: This game just looks so freakin amazing. They didn't go for the gritty realism of say Warhammer. They went for a more subdued realistic colored but slightly fantastic WoW look. Meeting somewhere in the middle means I find myself every day going "THATS SO BEAUTIFUL". Weapons, monsters and especially skills all look so good.

        2) Casual Players Accepted: I work full time and try to go to class no and then and have a young family so time isn't something I really have. Yet in my very limited time I have a level 30 ranger and a slew up little under level 10 characters. EVERYTHING in this game gives exp and good exp at that. I know I am not max level and everyone says there is a grind for the legendary weapons. However I am not even close to this and may never be.

        3) Dynamic Events: If other companies are smart this is how quests will be done forever more. I don't ever want to do old style text box grind questing. With Dynamic events I logged off in a friendly fort of NPC's next night logged on and they were about two NPC's left from being taken over. I had just appeared at the end of a long line of dynamic events chain and help fight off a horde of bad guys to defend the fort. Then the event chain kept going till I found myself on top of a nearby hill destroying siege equipment. MASSIVE exp and items and loot. Very fun and rewarding. I just seen the world actually shape around me based on my actions. Best part not instanced so many people were in and out on the events making for epic fights.

       4) PVP: There are a few out there that say all the PVP in GW2 is broken. However the reasons they say its broken are the same reason I say its the best ever. Two main PVP modes so I will break them down each alone.
sPVP: This is a PVP where everyone is moved up to level 80 and here is the best part you are given level 80 pvp equipment. Now you can customize your equipment but just for play style. Literally they found a way to make sure a 40 hour a week player is on the same footing as a 1 hour a week player. sPVP is completely based on SKILL!!!!!!!! That means no hardcore player will have a maxed out set of top tier pvp gear and you have a crappy set of low tier PVE gear. Everyone is on level playing field. I love this. Because I have always been a decent gamer but because of time never been able to dominate. I have always been behind the gear curve. Not in sPVP! Now I do really well and win most matches and usually top three in scores each match.
WVWVW: This is where they take three servers and give you four different regions to fight over. It’s all persistent. Meaning my server is a little above average in play which means we get bumped up to play the big dogs but just barely can compete. However by some weird way things like this works out. Our server is more active than normal in early morning hours I mean like typical breakfast times. So we usually take over everything at this time. Then spend the rest of the day fighting tooth and nail trying to hold it till by the end of the night we have little less than a third of the control points. Everyone going in is upscaled to level 80 however you have the armor you always have so you will be underpowered. However you a bad player anyway if you’re not in a good sized group in WvW so just be cautious help revive and help build things and help cap control points. You will still get kills and be able to do a lot of damage and really help. I have gained many levels off WvW exp gains.

       5) Personal Story: Fully voiced well written nicely acted story that doesn’t break the gameflow and isn’t forced but is still really nice and amazing exp and loot.

It is apparent the developers really listened to the community when making this fine game. They have a couple things they could improve of course no game is ever perfect, especially a MMO that tries to draw from such a wide base. All the things I have said are why this game is the best MMO ever many have said are why it’s the worse. Maybe you can make up your own mind after all no monthly subscription means it’s the same cost as a 20 hour action game!

Elder Scrolls Online!

Lately I have been playing ESO on PS4. I have to say it has been a great experience. It is every bit as good as past Elder Scrolls games. So well written and beautifully crafted. The quests are full of story and life and lead you expertly across the land. The many different stories are not only written well but voice acted amazingly. Best voice acting in a open world RPG I have every played. I am having a ton of fun.     I even stuck my feet into the PVP. Even helped take a keep. But for the most part since I didn't have a group to run with and I didn't have a mount yet I found PVP to not be as rewarding as questing. I will try again though this time with a mount  and some friends if i can find a good pvp guild.     I also the other night did my first dungeon. I am a sorcerer and flip between destruction staff and restoration staff skills. So I was the healer for the dungeon. For sure not as easy to heal as any other MMO. Directional AOE h...

It is ok to hate a Game!

These days ever game franchise and developer and publisher have their faults. Some have many. EA has a lot and Bioware has really squandered some good opportunities like SWTOR. Their are a lot of things about Bioware game that a lot of people don't like. It looks like EA is going to do everything it can to continue its aggressive DLC policy.       With all that said it is important to look past all the BS. Look at what is put on the shelf and ask yourself is this game worth the price. Will I enjoy this and will it make me happy. Even with all the things I don't like about this game or this company will I still enjoy this? Don't listen to the hype or the haters. Just ask yourself what your opinion is on this game.      For me at this point Bioware games (including SWTOR) have hit every sweet spot in what I am looking for. I know without even looking at ...

Game Reviews!?! Worth reading?

It should be pretty apparent at this point that by and large Mass Media Reviewers/Critics have huge problems. The problems are varied. They are paid to lie, they have a vendetta going into their review, they feel they can drive more traffic to their review if they nitpick the negatives and probably the biggest but least talked about is the reviewer either hates or doesn't understand the genre he is reviewing.                  Big Triple A official or professional reviews cannot be trusted. To often it becomes apparent that the reviewer is basically blowing smoke at us for the sake of keeping friendly with the games publishing company. Sometimes they are just outright paid for fluff pieces (allegedly). If the reviewer is mid to low range in popularity he/she is probably not going to bite the hand that feeds them. EA and other companies have shown thy will blacklist certain reviewers from review c...
